Fairly straightforward, I wanted to show the feeling of sinking. In the image it is literally intended to be water, but it is also an appropriate depiction of depression. Sinking into depression can feel very much like you are slipping into the cold and dark. Even coping can feel like you are just barely keeping your head “above water.”
