Prompt: Books TBR

Daily writing prompt
What books do you want to read?

I think it’s a little dangerous to ask writers about books they want to read without stipulating a maximum. But you’ve done it, and I’m going to answer. With some degree of mercy in mind, I promise not to list every single one. Probably.

I’m terrible with my reading habits these days, but there are a fair number books I would like to read. Whether I get to them this year, I have no idea. They are wants, not shoulds. Still, I’ve got a reasonable number of books in my crosshairs.

Ready? These are listed in no particular order. Just as I can summon them.

  1. The Gateless Gate – traditional Zen text
  2. Mr. Breakfast – Jonathan Carroll
  3. The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
  4. The Bible KJV
  5. The Qu’ran
  6. Into the Current –
  7. How the Mind Works – Steven Pinker
  8. 3 Body Problem
  9. The Iliad – Homer
  10. The Rubaiyat
  11. The Divine Comedy
  12. The Satanic Verses – Salman Rushdie
  13. Paradise Lost

I think that’s enough for now. It’s a bit intimidating to look at, I must admit. But then again, there’s no curriculum that obliges me to finish them all now, or ever.
