I think it’s a little dangerous to ask writers about books they want to read without stipulating a maximum. But you’ve done it, and I’m going to answer. With some degree of mercy in mind, I promise not to list every single one. Probably.
I’m terrible with my reading habits these days, but there are a fair number books I would like to read. Whether I get to them this year, I have no idea. They are wants, not shoulds. Still, I’ve got a reasonable number of books in my crosshairs.
Ready? These are listed in no particular order. Just as I can summon them.
- The Gateless Gate – traditional Zen text
- Mr. Breakfast – Jonathan Carroll
- The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
- The Bible KJV
- The Qu’ran
- Into the Current –
- How the Mind Works – Steven Pinker
- 3 Body Problem
- The Iliad – Homer
- The Rubaiyat
- The Divine Comedy
- The Satanic Verses – Salman Rushdie
- Paradise Lost
I think that’s enough for now. It’s a bit intimidating to look at, I must admit. But then again, there’s no curriculum that obliges me to finish them all now, or ever.
